OPEN CALL / International Masterclass for Choral Conductors with Jan Schumacher

International Masterclass for Choral Conductors with Jan Schumacher and State Chamber Choir "Polifonija" will be held from October 26th to October 31st, 2024 in Šiauliai, Lithuania. The masterclass is open to participants from all over the world and will focus on musical interpretation, improvement of conducting skills and work with a professional choir.

The repertoire will consist of a selection of a cappella music from Germany (20th century) and Lithuania (21st century). The working language will be English. The masterclass is designed for a maximum of 8 active participants who will work on the program with the choir and conduct a masterclass concert. The price for active participants is 250 Euros, which includes music scores, a professional video recording of the concert, an extra program, and one common dinner. However, participants are responsible for their own travel arrangements, accommodation, and food.

In addition to the main program, participants will be able to attend training sessions, repertoire reading sessions, lectures about German and Lithuanian music, vocal techniques, warm-ups, rehearsal techniques, and other extra programs.

Passive participants can also join the masterclass by paying a fee of 30 Euros per day. Passive participants will be able to watch rehearsals, attend the concert, and join the extra program together with active participants.
