October 9, 6:30 PM | Šiauliai Chamber Hall “Polifonija” – Finale.
From the cycle “Fantasy” dedicated to the 150th anniversary of M. K. Čiurlionis.
The “Polifonija” Hall will host improvisations on M. K. Čiurlionis’ works in the language of jazz. Two masters of Lithuanian improvisational music will take the stage – saxophonist Jan Maksimovič and pianist Dmitrij Golovanov.
It will be an evening when Čiurlionis’ musical ideas breathe freely – without frames, rules, or drawn lines. Musical fantasy will become a living adventure for both performers and the audience.
The program “Following Čiurlionis” – as the artists themselves call it – is an interpretation of Čiurlionis’ preludes, expanding the original works into broader improvisational forms. It is also their latest album, which will be presented to the Šiauliai audience during this concert.
